From what I see on social media, the death of Walton Casuals is just around the corner.
Players leaving left, right and centre, it’s all bad news!
But can anyone tell me what’s changed? In all the years I’ve been following non-league football this has always been the case. Players come and go on a monthly basis, so why the doom and gloom because three or four players publicly declare they’re leaving? Players I may add who aren’t even on a contract so could walk whenever they want anyway.
The new manager will have his own players to bring, he’ll have a look at those already here who want to still stake a claim for a place and he has good contacts at Stevenage where he had some players on loan from last season.
If players no longer want to play for the club before they’ve even given the new manager a chance, then aren’t we better off without them anyway?
Just my two and eighth’s worth.

Metamorphosis mate! Metamorphosis.... Bring back Paul Mills, that's what I say! I totally agree. Dont forget we effectively changed half our team between Jan and March anyway. And, I know this sounds brutal but think back to that first half at Salisbury a week before we stayed up - we were absolutely shocking and out of our depth. At that pount, irrespective of the outcome at the end of the season, it was obvious we needed wholesale changes. Also, do we genuinely believe that some of those leaving will walk straight into Step 3 football? Time will tell.

I don't think it's good to see everyone pressing the panic button due to this so called 'exodus'.
As it stands, we have NO players. No contracts mean no players, we start every single season with a clean slate as we are right now. Some players will stay, most will go and be replaced. IT'S NOTHING NEW!
So be patient, see what preseason brings and see where we stand come kick off for the new season.

Some of those you mention are better than what we have now. Such is non-league life, players come and go all the time.
Let’s just be positive and get behind whoever wears the shirt next season.

This is a true story; I said in my usual tongue in cheek manner. But before;- that I am always sorry to see any player leave Casuals, I'm particularly sorry to see players who I've enjoyed watching leave. When we were moved to the Southern South Premier last season. I bumped into a very high up supporter of Walton & Hersham.
Walton & Hersham supporter said to me; "I hear half your teams leaving because of the travelling" I said "Oh yes where did you hear that" Walton & Hersham supporter, "That's what I was told" I said "You were told a lot of Nonsense then"
WAS THAT ARNOLD OR RICHARD...THE HIGH UP SUPPORTER
Ok At the start of last season (2018-19);- Josh Kelly & Sean McCormack went back to Maidenhead. Darryl Coleman, Jack Summoutis, Stuart Baldwin, Dom Ogun and Alfie Taylor left.yone who saw the pre-season friendlies, prior to 2017-18 would of given Casuals a chance of surviving in Bostic South let alone get promoted.
But life goes on. Life goes on.
