Casuals 1 Merthyr Town 1 A game of two halves really. The first half was played in a very strong wind, which to be honest neither team managed to master, with very little goal mouth action. The second half started with Casuals looked the better of the two sides. They had a very good spell in the first twenty minutes which they should have made better of. However it was Merthyr, who went ahead, with a goal well worked after Casuals failed to clear their lines, scored by Keyon Reffell. With most pundits thinking it would only take the one goal to win the game, coupled with the sending off of Adam Liddle for a second yellow card, only heighted the home crowds disappointment. However, Anthony rang the changes and Danny Rowes goal in the 81st minute to level the game, appeared to give a fair 1-1 result. No doubt recent results against clubs lower down the table, appear to be the stumbling block to maintain a top half finish, however Casuals have produced some good, if not spectacular results, so hopefully they will not let this go to waste in the end of season run in. Tuesday Night (1st Feb) Casuals are at home to Woking, in the Surrey Senior Cup.
