Casuals 0 Farnborough 0
A game in which both sides seem to settle for a point there were very few highlights apart from how strongly the teams played. Two strong teams fought out a very good game, where a point a piece seemed, by most commentators, to be a fair result. In the first fifteen minutes of the game, Farnborough looked to be, what they are, the run away leaders of the division; but credit to Casuals they didn't give much away. As the half went on Casuals seem to grow into the game, as they produced more attacking ideas. Although, following a defensive slip on Casuals right, Farnborough hit the side netting, to a sigh of relief from the blue seats, the even stephens at halftime seem to reflect the game. Again Farnborough started the second half looking good and similarly to the first half, as the game wore on, Casuals came back more into it, to such an extent that Casuals looked, by far the side most likely to win the game in the last fifteen minutes. 0-0 are fair result, which both sides looked good value for.
Again, with the level of football, the officials had a good game. Again worthy of note the attendance was over 400, the forth league game in a row (home/away) that Casuals have attracted. In fact you have to go back to early December to find a crowd less than 250. Which to my mind shows the attraction of Casuals standard of football, both home and away, that people are prepared to watch. Tuesday Casuals are away at Kings Langley, with the next home game being Sat 29th January home to our welsh friends from Merthyr Town.
