Casuals v Farnborough, Saturday 15th January 2022 K.O. 3-00pm at The Hub.
Top of the table Farnborough come to The Hub this Saturday in good form, having beaten the Mets on Tuesday night (11th Jan). Casuals having suffered the disappointing defeat on the same night will no doubt wish to prove that they are not an "also run" side in the league. What the game will pan out like we'll have to wait and see.
No doubt the powers that be within the club will anticipate a large crowd. So get there early for a good seat.
I was interested to read in the Royston programme notes, on the History of Royston Town season 2014-45 "On a miserable Tuesday evening in February we travelled to lowly AFC Hayes and after an abject performance we lost the game 2-0. This prompted our Chairman to tell Steve Castle (manager) that he had given up on his team making the play-offs and said we should start preparing instead for next season, This message was conveyed to players" ....... they then went on a 14 game unbeaten run.. who knows folks.
By the way, our co-tenants Wimbledon Casuals are on the back pitch, home to AFC Ewell K.O. 2-15, any groundhoppers who think they can watch this and then freeload into see the 2nd half are mistaken, you still need a wristband.
