Walton Casuals 1 Taunton Town 1Casuals get their first point against Taunton Town in a niggley game.
In a physical, scrappy game, Casuals salvage a point with a 87th minute Rohdell Gordon equaliser. A physically strong, competitive Taunton Town side came to The Hub with a 100% record against Casuals. Taunton looked to have edged the first half when Toby Holmes scored a well worked 36th minute goal, following an unfortunate break of the ball. Taunton came out in the second half determined to hold on to their lead with strong physical defending, relying on the break. To their credit Casuals kept plugging away and in the end Rohdell Gordon shot come cross, which ended up in the net thanks to clever work by Dan Rowe. A draw in the end was about a fair result and to me mind shows how Casuals have come to terms with the physical requirements of playing at this level.
Casuals remain 14th. Tom Bird made his first appearance for the club. Around the league Spuds Met Police won 2-1 at Hayes. It took a 93rd minute winner for Farnborough to beat Merthyr having been 0-2 down at half time.
Which brings us to Tuesdays game against Hayes & Yeading in the league. Looks a thriller, but we'll have to wait till Tuesday night K.O. 7-45pm at The Hub.
