Initially sorry for the delayed report, but, let's say I've had a bad week at the office.
Casuals went in to this match with a distinct sense of despondency following their performance in the Trophy against Uxbridge. (I wasn't in the best of moods myself). The sense of despondency in the team was heighten inside the first quarter of an hour. Initially on 11 mins Cheshams Karl Oliyide timed his run to catch the Casuals defence napping and fire his powerful shot home. Another 3mins later Kylian Kouassi, scored when the Casuals defence failed to clear their lines. (So I was told, I was "spending a penny"). This second goal effectively finished the game off. To be fair a deluge of goals didn't occur and Casuals stuck to their task and late into the first half appeared to have weathered the storm. In the second half Casuals started to look more effective, but Chesham seemed to stifle Casuals best efforts, until deep into injury time, Daniel Rowes long range effort, appeared to squirm under the Chesham goalkeepers body and over the line. (Well the linesman gave it, I couldn't see).
Saturdays game against Hartley Wintney would now appear to be a bit of a "six pointer".
