Luckless Casuals suffer away defeat at Salisbury.
Casuals went into this difficult game at Salisbury with a very positive attitude. Throughout the whole first half they looked the better and more adventurous of the two sides. The only set back came when Gab O'Dunaike limped off injured, 30 mins into the game, to be replaced by Rohdell Gordon. With a 0-0 half time score line Casuals knew they had to continue with the same attacking frame of mind.. Coming out into the 2nd half Casuals continued with their positive play and again looked the more likely to score the opener. However it was the Casuals defence that were caught "ball watching" a quarter of an hour into the 2nd half, with Salisburys Josh Wakefield scoring with a powerfully driven goal. This appeared to spur Casuals even more with the resultant equaliser, for Casuals, coming from James Comley. With 1-1 appearing to be a "fair result". Casuals began to look for the winner, with Zidan Ackers replacing Bradley Keetch. However it was with five minutes to go that Salisburys substitute, Dan Fitchett, scored their near post winner, following a far side free kick. Casuals applied pressure during the final five minutes of normal time with five minutes of added time to no avail.
Casuals will no doubt feel disappointed with the result, but did at times look the better of the two sides.
On to Saturdays F.A. Trophy game against Uxbridge.
