Casuals ever hopeful journey to the West Country, was under serve pressure in the opening 20 mins of this game, at Yate. However to be fair to the Casuals defence, it took a clever header from Yates David Sims-Burgess to open the scoring. Just as Casuals seem to be getting back into the game, defensive hesitance prove to be their further undoing, as Oliver Mehew was give a clear run on goal from just inside the Casuals half, to round stand in goalkeeper Alfie Jones, to add Yates second. Zidan Akers scrambled goal just before half time following a Casuals corner gave Casuals hope.
Undeterred by Yates first half performance, Casuals put up a good show in the second half in looking for an equaliser, but a break by Yates Oliver Mehew, culminated in sub James Harding scoring Yates 3rd.
To be fair in parts Casuals played well, but although the 3-1 score line was flattering to Yate, they did deserve their victory by their first half performance alone.
Casuals drop to 9th, 4 points off a play-off place. But they need to improve on todays performance for this to be achieved.
Locally;-

As did our namesakes and co-Tenants Wimbledon Casuals who beat Earlsfield SSEC 6-0
Hersham, (the younger brothers of my kids classmates), surprising lost 1-2 on the Island to Reigate Priory.
For those living North of the River;-
Hampton drew 0-0 at home to Chippenham Town
Abbey Rangers went through to the next round of the Vase, winning the penalty shoot out 4-2 after a 2-2 draw with Horley.
Spuds team won 1-0 at Tiverton to keep their play-off place very much alive.
And even more dangerously the Prodigal Sons team won 2-1 at the Hub to go two points clear.
