I was watching the Swindon game on Saturday and on an occasion in a break in play I glanced over to the back pitch... So me being me, at half time I took a walk over there. Engaging in pleasant conversation, I discover that the pitch is hired, for this season at least, to a team aptly name;- Wimbledon Casuals.
Now Wimbledon Casuals, play in the Surrey Southeastern Combination Intermediate Div 1. Now that might not mean a lot to most people, but, it's promotes to the Surrey Premier League (Formerly Surrey Elite Intermediate). The League Hersham F.C. are in.
No doubt that means even less to most people, but the Surrey Premier League, was the League I first saw Casuals (Walton) play in... Anyway, Wimbledon Casuals are top of their league and have taken the option on ground because it is of sufficient standard to allow a club to play in the Surrey Premier.
I find that interesting, others find it totally irrelevant. A watching brief to see what happens is in my mind.
