Staines Town kick off their season in earnest on Saturday (17th August) away at Ware.

I think, anyone with an interest in local football, wishes them well.
Hopefully, they can overcome their off field difficulties to produce a stable team.

Anthony,  Denzil,  Mahrez, Rhys Paul, et al.

All not forgotten and still held with fond regards by the stags.


Tuesday (20th August) they're at home to Marlow, with no game for Casuals, I wonder if any will make the trip to see them play.

I'm a long time Casuals fan, make no mistake about that.

Yes, if I don't finish work till two on Saturday and I can't get to a Casuals game in time, I'll pop round the corner to see Cobham and Manuel.
Yes, I can remember Craig Lewington playing for the Casuals, so go luck to him at Molesey.
Yes, best of luck to Anthony & Denzil at Staines.
Yes, my mate's son manages Worcester Park. (T. Gale)
Yes, the management team at Horsley, went to them same school as my sons and I can remember them as school boys. (And half the side when they were at Cubs)
Yes I've noticed Hersham are a bit of an up and coming set up.

There's nothing wrong with wishing other clubs well.

I don't get on here and slate other clubs, (not like a Forum, we don't mention, that I'm banned from, that I don't read).
 

Seriously I think it's important to keep a sense of perspective and a friendly interest in other local clubs is useful in that sense.

(Not like Hampton supporters who can't see the ironic humour of life!) 

I might go to Staines tonight as long as it doesn't rain.
