James Ewingtons goals kept Casuals up last season, his hat trick for Beaconsfield last night has now got Walton in deep trouble. If he keeps scoring his goals could well relegate Casuals this term.

Beaconsfield will finish above Casuals, they still have two games in hand and a far superior goal difference. They've clawed back a massive deficit while Casuals are still winless since early December. I can't see anything other than a Beaconsfield win at the Hub later this month.

Looking through the fixtures it is hard to see where wins are coming from for Casuals and Ewington hitting form is bad news. He has failed whenever he has stepped up a level but in this division he is deadly, just a shame Conroy had no idea how to play to him! As far as I can see a reprieve is Walton's best hope, there are two third place sides to drop with the worst ppg, at the moment Casuals have the third best record across the 4 premier division but there only a couple of points in it so in great danger of going down 3rd from bottom. Blackfield and Langley though have said they will not do the work needed for ground grading which would reprieve one of the two 3rd from bottom sides.

Conroy had a team that had won five on the spin, playing a certain way and some lovely football, and then Ewington was thrust upon him by all accounts. It wasn't his signing but he had to play him as the top earner. So the whole dynamic of the team had to change to try and accommodate him and it just didn't work. It was ultimately the move that cost Conroy his job.
He fits in well with the way Beaconsfield play so it's no surprise to see him scoring goals there.
Will the Casuals hierarchy even be bothered if they go down? Paying gates of 100 or so, all the travel expenses incurred, just to fight relegation each year? They're punching way above their weight, I think they'd be happy to go back down to Step 4.

The club is slowly sinking back to being a park side again then if that is the case. This time last year it was a club with increasing attendances, a thriving youth section - a feature of games was the presence of young players in the crowd in Casuals Juniors kit, there was a buzz about the place, there was Stags TV, the mascot appeared in fact it was club really going somewhere, the fight against relegation should of been the making of the club and then they made the terrible appointment of Steve Conroy. Players left like rats deserting a ship, Conroy bought his favourite players in like Alex in goal who I warned is completely useless and made him captain. Now everything which made the club different has gone, the youth section, social media is a joke now and it really does look a club declining as quickly as it grew.

Club is on the slide for certain, no solid assests ie just a shared rented ground with Walton and Hersham FC and Walton Casuals Juniors so no income other than gate money which isn't much this season.Main sponsor walking away into distance with most of the fan base, it will only be a few seasons before the natural order in Walton is restored and Casuals are the towns second club once again. I say that as a neutral fan who supports no local club but loves non league football.

And there speaks the "green eyed monster" of envy! Envious of what? There is litteraly nothing there, once the Gales get fed up there is no club. There are no assets to build a club on. Casuals play in a council owned ground they have to hire to play in. The club don't own a thing, have no bar to make money, they do not own so much as a garden shed, they need to hire silvermere golf club for social events as there is no clubhouse and do not earn a single penny from matchday catering. They simply have the £12 that 80 or 90 people hand over each week. That cannot sustain a semi pro club. There is no longer a youth section since they broke away and distanced themselves. If the season starts up again they will surely drop in the summer and then more than likely be back at the wrong end of the league below the following season playing in front of one man and his dog again.
